Career Coaching is a combination of reflective thinking and practical guidance that aims to get you on track to where you want to be. It focused on thinking about what you want and how to turn that into reality.

Do you ever find that even though you know all the 'right' things' to do in a certain situation, you don't actually do them? That even though you've read those career books, you're not really doing everything you know you should be? That's what coaching is for: helping you figure out what's important, what you want, and how to take real action rather than just thinking or talking about it.

Your relationship with your coach is like no other you have - your coach is objective. She listens without judgement - and offers a third-view perspective. Your coach has no stake in what decision you make, because unlike your friends or partners, your decisions do not impact on her life. However, your coach is totally behind you, she wants you to succeed, and is cheering you on every step of the way. Nowhere except with your coach do you get this fabulous mix of objectivity and positive support.

What are coaching sessions like?

Career Revolution's coaching sessions last for 1.5 hours (or 1 hour if you're in a hurry!) and are completely private with your coach. At the beginning of each session we agree on what to focus on, then work through this, with each session ending in some action to take.

Make ideas or 'intentions' into reality: Marianne will listen closely to what your issue is, and help you work through the options, aiming to reach a solution that puts you back in control of your career, and turn those things you always say you want into a reality.

It's your Career Revolution: The sessions are non-judgemental, and based on the idea that - putting aside the all-important skills, tools and tips - when it comes to career direction, and the 'big questions' you are able to figure out the answers. Your coach is there to guide you, but you are in charge of where the sessions go.

Coaching covers a range of issues: For example, in your coaching sessions you might  find you (unwittingly) have some belief about yourself, or the job market, that is actually holding you back. Or you might have lots of thoughts floating around but no sense of what to do with them, or whether you should make a move at all. Coaching helps you work through these and take some concrete action.

Keeping on track: Importantly, your coach is there to keep you accountable. Ever find that, say, going to the gym every week tends to happen when you have a gym buddy? That's what your coach is like - but unlike your gym buddy, if you miss out on doing something, we'll try to work out why, whether that was the right thing to be doing, and how to get things moving again.

Between sessions: Each session ends with some concrete action to take. To help you keep on track you have us on hand via email for any support you need between session. It's a coaching relationship, not just isolated sessions!
